Thanksgiving is a time of, well, giving, and there are plenty of wonderful places that could use the help here in St. Louis. Everyone deserves to have a good meal during the holiday season and there’s no better way to ensure no one goes hungry than by donating to a local food pantry. Here at Don Brown Chevrolet, we’re all about giving back to the community, so here are a few local food pantries in St. Louis that could use your help!
- The Bridge – The Bridge serves the people of St. Louis breakfast from 7am to 9am and lunch runs from noon to 12:30pm. The St. Louis area lists that for every dollar donated, four meals make their way to hungry people. Donations are tax deductible, but if you don’t have the money or food to donate, stop by and offer a helping hand.
- Kingdom House – Kingdom House is a food pantry that’s open from 10am to 3pm on weekdays. Those wishing to donate can drop off canned goods and nonperishable food items during their open hours.
- Wilhelmina Hardin Food Pantry – The Wilhelmina Hardin Food Pantry is open Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 2pm and takes donations of nonperishable food. Stop by and help relieve hunger in the St. Louis area today!
- Circle of Concern – The Circle of Concern is a local Food Pantry that offers more than food to needy families. They also provide financial support, scholarships, job mentoring, children’s programs and sponsors different holiday events. They are located in West St. Louis County and they are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am-3pm, Wednesdays 9am-7pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm.
If you are able to help donate, any of the above food pantries are taking donations. As we approach the Holiday season, we want to make sure everyone had the food they need for their family. Also, Don Brown Chevrolet will be hosting a Food Drive for Circle of Concern in November through December; so stop in and bring food items to our dealership!
