The Chevy Silverado High Desert package, which will be available in 2017 Silverado’s when they’re released this fall, will bring both extra refinement and added utility to the popular pickup.
The High Desert package will include more refined styling, a lockable cargo system, and available Magnetic Ride Control suspension in the High Country. The package will also be available in LT and LTZ models, and pulls some features from the Suburban, Chevy’s full-size SUV, to provide added luxury and family-focused convenience as well as the rugged utility Silverado fans look for.
The lockable cargo area is installed over the bed, where storage bins and a three-piece cover are added. The cargo area locks with a key fob. The Magnetic Ride Control allows for more precise vehicle control thanks to sensors that read the road and convey messages about it to the shock absorbers every few milliseconds, much faster than the average suspension.
The LTZ and High Country trims can also come with 22-inch all-terrain wheels, while the LT is only offered with all-season tires. These trims will come with a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a Hydra-Matic 8-speed automatic transmission, with the engine putting out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
