Chevy recently premiered the new 2017 Camaro 1LE at the Chicago Auto Show on February 18. This model is one of the best-performing muscle cars to come out of Chevy’s engineering labs, with raw power and intelligent technologies. For the first time ever, the new 1LE package will come available on the 1LT and 2LT coupes.
According to Fox Sports, the 2017 Camaro 1LE package includes an FE3 suspension, Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, a stain-black hood, front splitter, and a distinct three-piece spoiler. This model has a curb weight under 3,500 pounds thanks to lightweight engineering, as well as superb front-to-rear weigh balance thanks to the precise FE3 suspension.
“The result delivers better performance in all measures,” said Al Oppenheiser, lead engineer on the new Camaro. Oppenheiser goes on to say that, “In our development tests, the V6 Camaro 1LE delivers lap times comparable with the previous-gen V8 model. The 2016 Camaro SS 1LE sets the new benchmark for the segment, lapping the Big Willow track at Willow Springs three seconds faster than the standard Camaro SS.”
This package will have an available 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that provides 455 horsepower. The SS model comes with a FE4 suspension and added dampers, springs, and stabilizers.
