Chevy Bolt Production to Begin Fall of 2016, On-Sale in Early 2017

Chevrolet Bolt ConceptSmoke will soon rise from the chimney in that old factory in Orion, Michigan. Technically, the GM plant there is already in use but soon, beginning in October 2016, it will be the place where the much-anticipated Chevrolet Bolt will be assembled.

Most concepts are left to languish forever in the world of concepts, and that’s because the purpose of many concepts is to give an automaker the opportunity to take chances they otherwise would not make with a production vehicle.  However, this is not the case with the Bolt.

It was only in January that we first locked eyes with the Bolt in January at the North American International Auto Show and it was love at first sight. That’s why the details of the impending Chevy Bolt production are so exciting. In automotive terms, being ready for sale by early 2017 is rather quick.

The Chevrolet Bolt made headlines for being part of a new generation of electric vehicles that have an extensive range. Early numbers indicate that the Bolt will have a range beyond 200 miles.

It won’t be too long until you can test drive a brand new Chevy Bolt here at Don Brown Chevy!
